The scene it makes easier
Imagine filming a friend cooking. You begin with the kitchen, move closer for the knife and vegetables, then find their expression when they taste the dish. The V1's built-in 17–52mm-equivalent video zoom can make those three frames without a lens change. That is its real convenience: you can stay in the moment while changing the composition.
The built-in three-stop ND filter helps preserve your chosen shutter speed and aperture outdoors. The cooling fan addresses a practical problem for compact 4K cameras, though recording time still depends on the mode and conditions.
The number to read carefully
Canon's 4K60 is cropped by approximately 1.4×. The lens that begins around 17mm equivalent for ordinary video frames more like 24mm in that mode. For slow motion across a table, this may be harmless; for an arm's-length introduction, it could remove the room you wanted to show. Choose the frame rate after imagining the frame.

Canon built the V1 around the tension in a small video camera: a useful zoom, a larger sensor, and enough cooling for ambitious recording modes. Its wide end can establish a room; the long end can isolate a hand or face. The exact mode matters: 4K30 keeps the wide view, while 4K60 crops it by about 1.4×.
